The Indian Army on Tuesday mobilised a field hospital as part of its ongoing operation in Turkey to provide medical support to the victims of the devastating earthquake.
A 99-member medical team was dispatched on Tuesday by the Agra-based Army Field Hospital to Turkey’s capital Ankara.
From specialists to a range of general physicians, the medical team consists of all the critical care specialists.
The team, equipped with critical care equipment and systems, has been dispatched with X-ray machines, ventilators, an oxygen generation plant, cardiac monitors and associated equipment to set up a 30-bed medical facility.
The Indian Air Force also dispatched two C-17 planes to Turkey with 60 para-field hospitals and personnel to help in the rescue and relief operations.
Sources said India was also sending a C-130J aircraft full of medical supplies to Syrian capital Damascus.
Turkey and its neighbouring country Syria were struck by a series of massive earthquakes on Monday.
India has already dispatched search and rescue teams of the National Disaster Response Force, medical teams and relief materials to Turkey
