The Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday with London-based Gravitas AI Limited and Hyderabad-based Triculin Technologies for a project aimed at easing the legal processes for the common people, lawyers and judges with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
The project will also help shorten the time spent in preparing the cases, contesting them and cutting down on the delay.
The MoU was signed in Hyderabad on Tuesday in the presence of CNLU vice-chancellor Faizan Mustafa, Gravitas co-founder Mukesh Sinha and Triculin chief executive Vamshi Srinivas and others.
“This is going to be a path-breaking initiative to integrate AI into the judicial system. It is a significant step towards streamlining legal processes and making justice delivery not only much faster, but also more efficient,” Mustafa said.
“The tools developed as a part of the project will make the preparation of cases easy, guide the people through it and provide a better understanding of the law with the help of AI. It will help lawyers in preparing and fighting the cases. It will help the judges in checking references while making decisions,” Mustafa added.
The project will create practical tools to support the legal ecosystem and provide equitable access to information for crores of people across the country. The AI solutions will also help simplify complex legal processes and contribute towards reducing the backlog of cases.
