Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was summoned for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the liquor policy case, hit out at the Centre raising pertinent issues linked to law-and-order in the national capital, reports ndtv.com.
In a letter to the Lt Governor, he stated, "I request you to please pay some attention to this matter too."
"There have been a number incidents of rape and murder over the last few days... Delhi has now become the capital of criminals," Sisodia wrote, giving examples of three cases. three cases including the death of a 27-year-old, who was beaten up by three men.
Earlier today, CBI summoned Sisodia for questioning on Monday in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy for the national capital.
The federal probe agency has asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader to appear before it at its headquarters here at 11 am on Monday, they added, reports PTI.
Retorting in a tweet on Sunday, Sisodia said: "CBI raid was conducted at my house for 14 hours, nothing came out. Searched my bank locker, nothing came out in it. They did not find anything in my village. Now they have called me to CBI Headquarters at 11 am tomorrow. I will go and give my full cooperation. Satyameva Jayate."
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal compared his deputy and jailed minister Satyendar Jain to Bhagat Singh and termed his government's fight with the Centre the "second freedom struggle".
The AAP claimed that Sisodia would be arrested on Monday and alleged the move was initiated in view of the forthcoming assembly elections in Gujarat where it is in a direct contest with the BJP.
