Absconding drug peddler held from Uttar Pradesh

A team of the State Task Force and the Odisha crime branch with assistance from their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh, arrested an interstate absconding drug peddler from Ghaziabad.

The drug peddler has been identified as Gulbesh Khan alias Sk Hazarat of Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. In a press release, the STF on Thursday said: “The STF wanted Sk Hazarat in connection with the seizure of 202 grams of cocaine from the possession of two interstate drug peddlers, Ravi Singh and Sunny Kumar. The two procured the contraband cocaine from Sk Hazarat. While Ravi and Sunny were arrested in April, Sk Hazarat has been absconding since then.”Railway stationUnion railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has conceded to the request of the Bhubaneswar MP in renaming the Bolgarh railway station in Khordha district as Manikagouda.

“On the request of the villagers of Bolgarh area in my Bhubaneswar constituency, I had requested minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for allowing the change of name of Bolgarh station to Manikagouda station. Railway ministry has given its NOC. Glad that this would make residents happy,” said Aparajita Sarangi.
