A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader and four others, all managing committee members of a school in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, have been booked after students allegedly enacted the Babri mosque’s demolition at the institute’s annual sports day.

Puducherry lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi and Union minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda were among those who attended Sunday’s event.

“We have not arrested anyone because investigations are going on,” B.M. Laxmi Prasad, SP, Dakshina Kannada district, told PTI, adding the complaint was based on a “half-minute video”.

The purported clip includes a commentary on the event. “With Hanuman-like energy, the Babri Masjid was demolished,” the commentator says.
