At least 1,900 students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) will be appearing in the upcoming Class X board examination to be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education from March 10.
“Tribal students from other states such as Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Assam, who have enrolled at KISS, would be appearing in the examination,” said a media release issued by the institute.
The KISS, which claims to be the largest institute for tribal children in the world, offers education along with boarding free of cost to the students.
Apart from the Class X exam, 1,580 students will also appear in the Class XII board examination, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, which begins on March 1. In the arts stream, 635 students will appear in the exams and 457 students will appear from the commerce stream. In the science stream, 488 students will appear for the exams.
KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta wished the students all success and distributed pens among them.
