Generally speaking, the rule is that if your symptoms are “above the neck”, it is probably all right for you to exercise, says Mayo Clinic. But if you feel them “below the neck”, you’ll perhaps want to stay away from the exercise floor and on the bed.
It’s ok to exercise if your symptoms are above the neck, such as these:
• Sore throat
• Runny nose
• Nasal congestion
You should avoid working out if your symptoms are below the neck, such as:
• Fever
• Chills
• Muscle aches
• Chest congestion
• Coughing
• Stomach pain
