Actor Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Jail early Saturday morning after being granted interim bail by Telangana High Court. The actor was arrested on Friday in connection with the stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of his film Pushpa-2, which resulted in one death and left another person critically injured.
His arrest led to widespread reactions on social media, with users questioning the judicial system, political interference, and the fairness of justice.
‘Why blame Allu Arjun?’
One user compared the arrest of Allu Arjun to hypothetical situations involving public figures. The user wrote:
"If God forbid anything happens in a cricket stadium, will they arrest Virat Kohli? If anything happens in Telangana, should the army arrest the Chief Minister?"
‘What about politicians?’
Another user raised a question about double standards, posting: "If Allu Arjun is arrested for a mistake, when are politicians going to be arrested for their mess-ups during COVID, faulty bridges, rail accidents, and corruption?"

Another user contrasted Allu Arjun’s fast bail with prolonged detentions in other cases. He wrote: "On one hand, Allu Arjun gets arrested, gets a hearing, and secures bail in a single day. On the other, Umar Khalid has been in jail for 1,530 days without a trial, let alone bail. Justice isn’t slow; it’s just selective."
'Negligence: celebrity vs politician?'
A user drew comparisons between Allu Arjun’s arrest for negligence and politicians escaping accountability. He posted: "If a superstar can be arrested for negligence leading to one death, why not Sharad Pawar for hundreds of deaths caused under his watch? Accountability shouldn’t depend on who you are."
