Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 10 inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 in Lucknow.The event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, think tanks and leaders from across the world to explore business opportunities and forge partnerships.

Reliance Industries Ltd will invest Rs 75,000 crore in rolling out 5G mobile telephony services, expanding retail network and setting up renewable energy capacity in Uttar Pradesh in the next four years, its chairman Mukesh Ambani said on February 10.

Ambani also announced foray of the oil-to-telecom conglomerate into bio-energy business, converting agriculture waste into gas which can be used as fuel in industries, run automobiles or light kitchen stoves.

Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Ashwini Vaishnav, G Kishan Reddy, RK Singh, Smriti Irani and Pashupati Kumar Paras, will attend different sessions on February 10, according to media reports.

Besides Prime Minister Modi, President Droupadi Murmu and over 15 cabinet ministers, including finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya, women and child development minister Smriti Irani, and transport minister Nitin Gadkari are expected to attend the event.

Aditya Birla Group committed Rs 25,000 crore investment across its various businesses in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking at the summit, Kumar Mangalam Birla said the investment would go into various businesses like cement, metals, chemicals, financial services and renewable energy.

The Mumbai-based group's seven businesses have a significant presence in Uttar Pradesh, anchored by over 30,000 employees with an overall investment of Rs 40,000 crore, he noted.

Taking a dig at the state government, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, 'The BJP government is taking the state towards destruction instead of development. MoUs (Memorandums of Understanding) are being signed with industrialists to cheat the public and show off.

Akhilesh Pratap Singh, the Congress spokesperson, said public money was being used to mislead the public.
