Indonesia on Wednesday handed over the G20 presidency to India for the coming year at the Bali summit here with Prime Minister Narendra Modi terming it a matter of pride for every Indian citizen.

At a brief ceremony, Indonesian President Joko Widodo handed over the G20 presidency to Prime Minister Modi at the conclusion of the two-day G20 Summit here.

"Together with every country's efforts, we can make the G20 summit a catalyst for global welfare," Modi said.

Two people were killed in an explosion in Przewodow, a village in eastern Poland near the border with Ukraine. The United States and its NATO allies are investigating the blast that killed two in Poland. 

US officials siad that initial findings suggest missile that hit Poland was fired by Ukrainian forces at incoming Russian missile. Russia had nothing to do with missile landing in Poland, says Kremlin, blames Ukraine.

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has said that Twitter's coveted $8 blue tick subscription service will be relaunched with verification on November 29, days after the microblogging platform temporarily halted it following a surfeit of fake accounts.

Before Musk took control of Twitter on October 27, the blue tick was given to celebrities, government heads and other celebrities after their accounts were verified by the site's platform.

The $8 subscription fee announced on November 6 was a measure to retain advertisers and generate revenues.

President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday said that making women economically independent is an effective way of empowering them.

"To make India a developed country, maximum participation of women is needed," she said while addressing a Women's Self-Help Groups conference here.

"Economic self-reliance is an effective means of empowering women. Economic and social self-reliance complement each other. Self-Help Groups can contribute effectively to make women self-reliant," the president said.

Moshe Holtzberg, who as a toddler survived the Mumbai terror attack in 2008, was invited to the inaugural ceremony of the newly elected Knesset (Israeli parliament) on Tuesday in a special gesture.

The 16-year-old recited a Chapter from the Book of Psalms (Tehillim) "for my brothers and friends" during the inauguration ceremony.

Next week will mark the 14th anniversary of the horrific terror attacks during which 166 people were killed by 10 Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, who also targeted the Mumbai Chabad House.

The 26/11 attack continues to be an emotional moment for a lot of Israelis who feel that the Mumbai assault "is a shared pain" that binds India and Israel together.

The Aam Aadmi Party's Surat East Assembly seat candidate in Gujarat withdrew his nomination on Wednesday, with the AAP alleging he was abducted at the behest of the BJP and pressured to do so, a charge denied by the ruling party.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said their Surat seat candidate Kanchan Jariwala had been missing along with his family members since Tuesday.

"In this election, the BJP is miserably losing in Gujarat and has become so rattled that it has stooped to the level of kidnapping our candidate from Surat East," Sisodia alleged.

The theme of 41st edition of the India International Trade Fair is 'Vocal for Local and Local to Global'. 

Union Minister Narayan Rane on Tuesday inaugurated the MSME Pavilion at the 41st India International Trade Fair which began on November 14. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath visits the Uttar Pradesh pavilion at the 41st edition of the India International Trade Fair.

The Western Railway has revised the timings of 25 trains in view of the schedule of Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Express with an aim to have smooth train operations, officials said.

Among the trains whose timings have been revised includes Mumbai Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express and its schedule has been revised between Vapi and Ahmedabad railway stations in Gujarat, a release said on Tuesday.

A court in Delhi has given its approval to Delhi police for narco analysis test on Aaftab Amin Poonawala in connection with the Shraddha walker murder case, according to media reports.

Since Aaftab was not cooperating during the investigation and made attempts to mislead the police, Delhi police moved Saket court to seek approval for narco test. Aaftab has not yet disclosed details of Shraddha's mobile phone and saw which he allegedly used to chop his partner's body into pieces.

India middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has retained his top position in the ICC men's T20I batting rankings issued on Wednesday, following his stellar performance in the just-concluded T20 World Cup in Australia.

Suryakumar became the No.1 T20I batter after a superb showing in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup, where he smashed three fifties in five innings.

That performance helped him to achieve a career-best rating of 869 points. Although his rating dropped to 859 after his dismissal for 14 in the semi-final against England, Suryakumar has managed to hold on to his position at the top.
