The strong criticism of the film, The Kashmir Files, by the Israeli chairman of the jury of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has led to furious reactions from several quarters with Israel's ambassador to India issuing an open letter describing the adverse comments it as "abuse of hospitality" extended by the hosts.

Israeli ambassador to India Naor Gilon wrote on Twitter: An open letter to #NadavLapid following his criticism of #KashmirFiles. It’s not in Hebrew because I wanted our Indian brothers and sisters to be able to understand. It is also relatively long so I’ll give you the bottom line first. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED

Anupam Kher, who played a pivotal role in the film, called Lapid’s comments on The Kashmir Files “pre-planned” and hinted that the “toolkit gang” may have something to do with it.
