The government declared pro-Pakistan separatist amalgam Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Jammu and Kashmir a banned organisation for fomenting terrorism and spreading anti-India propaganda in the Union territory.  Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, any individual or organisation found involved in anti-India activities would be thwarted.

Six workers were killed after a fire broke out in a hand gloves manufacturing factory in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district in the wee hours of Sunday, a police official said. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced Rs 5 lakh each as compensation to the kin of the six persons who died in the fire.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over wrestler Vinesh Phogat leaving her Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award on national capital's Kartavya Path, saying the PM is the guardian of the nation and it hurts to see 'such cruelty' on his part. Gandhi's attack came a day after multiple World Championship medallist Phogat returned her Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award, keeping the two awards lying in the middle of Kartavya Path after the Delhi Police stopped her from reaching the prime minister's office.

West Bengal government appointed BP Gopalika as the new chief secretary of the state, an official notification said. Unless given an extension like his predecessor, Gopalika, a 1989-batch IAS officer, would be holding the post for only five months as he is scheduled to retire on May 31, 2024.

North Korea vowed to launch three new spy satellites, build military drones, and boost its nuclear arsenal in 2024 as leader Kim Jong Un said U.S. policy is making war inevitable, state media reported. He ordered the military to prepare to 'pacify the entire territory of South Korea,' including with nuclear bombs if necessary, in response to any attack.

Visibility in the National Capital Region improved, after two days of dense to very dense fog, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. In Delhi, the IMD recorded shallow fog with a minimum temperature of 11.7 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average.

Paula Abdul has accused former 'American Idol' producer Nigel Lythgoe of sexually assaulting her in the early 2000s when she was a judge on the reality competition show, according to a new lawsuit. Lythgoe said in a statement that he was 'shocked and saddened' to hear of the allegations made by Abdul, who he said he considered a 'dear' and 'entirely platonic' friend.

Ruling out the possibility of an alliance with the ruling BJD in Odisha, the BJP set a target to secure 50 per cent votes in the 2024 elections in the state. Speculations were rife about a possible alliance between the two parties after the BJD backed the BJP on the Opposition's no-confidence motion in Parliament in August, and the Delhi services bill that entails the creation of an authority for the transfer and posting of Group-A officers in the national capital.

The government has declared Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, a Canada-based activist of the banned Babbar Khalsa International, an 'individual terrorist' under the anti-terror law. Singh hails from Harike in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab and currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak said the party will kick off its 'Main Bhi Kejriwal' public dialogue initiative on January 4 next year, after the success of a signature campaign. Pathak, the AAP's national general secretary (organisation), convened a meeting at the party headquarters regarding the success of the door-to-door campaign and the training of party cadre for the upcoming 'Main Bhi Kejriwal' public dialogue campaign starting from January 4, the party said in a statement.
