File ImageSupreme Court protected four members of the Editors Guild of India against any coercive action till September 11 in connection with two FIRs lodged against them in Manipur for offences, including promoting enmity between two communities. The court asked Manipur government and law enforcement agencies to file a status report on the recovery of arms made from 'all sources' in the ethnic-violence hit state. Hundreds of protesters gathered at Phougakchao Ikhai in Manipur’s Bishnupur district as they tried to break through army barricades in an attempt to reach their deserted houses in Torbung.
An FIR was registered here against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge for allegedly outraging religious feelings. The two were booked under sections 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts to outrage religious feelings) and 153 A (promoting enmity between different religious groups) of the IPC at Civil Lines Police Station in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the alliance of like-minded opposition parties named INDIA has worried BJP and it is trying to mislead people by raising the 'India-Bharat' issue. US space agency NASA has released an image of Chandrayaan-3 lander 'Vikram' on the lunar surface, which was captured by its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft. NASA said its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) acquired an oblique view (42-degree slew angle) of the lander on August 27.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will hold extensive interactions with EU parliamentarians, students and the Indian diaspora during his almost week-long visit to Europe, which began on September 5. He is scheduled to return on September 12 night, a day after the conclusion of the G20 Summit.
IIT Mandi has suspended 10 students and taken disciplinary action against 62 others for allegedly ragging their juniors during an event at the institute. Three office-bearers of the institute's student body are among the 10 students who have been suspended from academics and hostel till December 2023.

Former Sri Lanka cricketer Sachithra Senanayake was arrested over match fixing allegations. Senanayake was accused of trying to fix the games of the 2020 edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) where he had allegedly enticed two players to fix games.
