Overnight rain led to a rapid improvement in Delhi's air quality and cleared the haze that had been lingering for over 10 days. Delhi government has postponed the implementation of the odd-even car rationing scheme as there has been a notable improvement in Delhi's air quality due to rain, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said.

Gaza officials said Israel launched air strikes on or near at least three hospitals, further endangering a health system swamped with thousands of casualties and people displaced by Israel's war against Hamas in the Palestinian enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country does not seek to conquer, occupy or govern Gaza after its war against Hamas but a 'credible force' would be needed to enter the Palestinian enclave if necessary to prevent the emergence of militant threats.

India and the US held wide-ranging talks to expand their global strategic partnership by shoring up engagement in areas of defence production, critical minerals and high-technology besides focusing on the situation arising out of the Israel-Hamas conflict and China's military muscle-flexing in the Indo-Pacific. The American delegation at the '2+2' ministerial dialogue talks was led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin while External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh headed the Indian side.

Caste census is a revolutionary step that will change the lives of the people, said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stressing that his party will get the survey conducted in Madhya Pradesh as well as at national level if voted to power. The Congress will also carry out caste census at the national level if it is brought to power at the Centre, he said, calling the exercise a 'revolutionary and life-changing step' for the people.

The Enforcement Directorate alleged that Hero MotoCorp executive chairperson Pawan Kant Munjal used foreign currency issued in the name of others for his personal expenditure abroad to 'override' RBI rules and attached his assets worth Rs 24.95 crore as part of a money laundering investigation. Three immovable properties of Munjal located in Delhi have been provisionally attached under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the central agency said in a statement.

Three persons, including two women, were killed and six others injured after a speeding Toyota Innova hit multiple vehicles on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, a police official said on Friday. Barring the Innova, five more vehicles were involved in the accident on the sea link.
