Gourav Vallabh joined the BJP hours after he quit the Congress, saying he can neither raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse 'wealth creators' day in and day out and was joining the ruling party due to his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's agenda of 'Viksit Bharat'. Vallabh, seen as an articulate Congress spokesperson, earlier shared his resignation letter written to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on social media platform X.

Delhi High Court refuses to entertain a PIL seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the excise policy-linked money laundering case. "At times, personal interest has to be subordinate to national interest but that is his personal call. We are a court of law and have to go by the law. Your remedy does not lie here, it lies elsewhere. You go before the competent forum," a bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet PS Arora said.

Days after Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu labelled him as 'insane' amid discussions on the operational confusion in state-run universities, Governor C V Ananda Bose said such remarks came after he had already endorsed names for interim vice-chancellors, as proposed by the minister. The governor's office also issued 'strict' warnings to the VCs who 'stall' university activities citing the state education department's 'illegal' order contradicting Supreme Court judgments.

harkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) nominated its Shikaripada legislator Nalin Soren from the Dumka Lok Sabha seat, making it clear that jailed former chief minister Hemant Soren will not contest from the constituency as speculated earlier. The BJP has already nominated Sita Soren, former JMM MLA and sister-in-law of Hemant Soren, from the Dumka constituency, reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

Rescuers searched for dozens of people still missing a day after Taiwan's strongest earthquake in a quarter century damaged buildings, killed 10 people and left others stranded in remote areas. Mayor Hsu Chen-wei said 48 residential buildings were damaged in the quake, some of which were tilting at precarious angles with their ground floors crushed.

NASA officials announced that they have hired three companies to come up with preliminary designs for vehicles to take NASA astronauts around the lunar south polar region in the coming years. The self-driving capability would also allow the vehicle to meet the next astronaut mission at a different location.
