More than 3,700 Palestinian children and minors have been killed in just under a month of fighting, and bombings have driven more than half the territory's 2.3 million people from their homes, while food, water and fuel run low. Top US diplomat Antony Blinken was due in Israel to call for localised pauses in fighting to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza as Israel said it surrounded the Palestinian enclave's biggest city and the focus of its drive to annihilate Hamas.

Trinamul Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who accused the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee of asking humiliating questions during a 'cash-for-query' hearing, expressed her readiness to cooperate with the probe while stressing the importance of protection from misogyny and maintaining a standard of decency. Moitra, who alleged that she was asked irrelevant questions about her personal life during the committee's hearing, said, "I am always ready for the probe and to answer all the questions. But there has to be a line of decency which needs to be mentioned. I need protection from cheap and derogatory questioning. I have written about this to the Lok Sabha Speaker too."

Supreme Court asked suspended AAP lawmaker Raghav Chadha to tender an unconditional apology to Rajya Sabha chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar on the select committee issue, and hoped that he would take a 'sympathetic' view of the matter. The CJI said the lawmaker will have to meet the Rajya Sabha chairperson to tender an unconditional apology on the issue.

A record 96,917 Indians were arrested while crossing illegally into the US between October 2022 and September 2023, according to the latest US Customs and Border Protection (UCBP) data. In 2020-21, 30,662 Indians were arrested while in 2021-22 this number was 63,927, according to the data.

Delhi's air quality plummeted to the 'severe plus' category, a stage at which all emergency measures, including a ban on polluting trucks, commercial four-wheelers, and all types of construction, are mandated to be initiated and enforced in the National Capital Region. The CAQM, a statutory body responsible for formulating strategies to combat pollution in the region, ordered a ban on non-essential construction work and specific categories of polluting vehicles on November 2.

Supreme Court granted interim protection from arrest to two journalists in connection with an article written by them on the Adani-Hindenburg row. The top court was hearing pleas filed by Nair and Mangnale challenging the summonses issued by the Ahmedabad crime branch asking them to appear for questioning with respect to the police's preliminary enquiry into their article published on the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) website.

Noida Police has booked Bigg Boss winner Elvish Yadav and arrested five people for the alleged use of snake venom at rave parties, officials said. Nine snakes, including cobras, were also rescued from the possession of those arrested, who had landed at a banquet hall in Sector 51 on November 2 for a party, which was a trap laid by animal rights group People for Animals (PFA), officials said.
