Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in West Bengal on March 1 and 2 as part of his official programme and is expected to address a women's rally on March 6 in the North 24 Parganas district, where restive Sandeshkhali is located. The prime minister will also address public meetings, BJP sources said.

Ahead of the EGM, a group of four investors of Byju's filed an oppression and mismanagement suit against the management of the company in the Bengaluru bench of the NCLT, seeking declaring of founders, including CEO Byju Raveendran, as unfit to run the company, appointment of a new board, declaring the just-concluded rights issue as void and a forensic audit of accounts.
Delhi High Court dismissed Trinamul Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra's plea against the alleged leakage of 'confidential' information from the ED to the media in relation to a probe against her under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Moitra had sought a direction to restrain the Enforcement Directorate from "leaking any information, including any confidential, sensitive, unverified/unconfirmed information, to the print/electronic media in relation to the ongoing investigation".
A crucial amendment to the surrogacy rules allowing married couples to use an egg or sperm of a donor in case a partner is suffering from a medical condition comes after the Supreme Court asked why the Centre was not taking a decision on the matter. “The very purpose of surrogacy would get defeated by such rules,” an apex court bench had observed in December 2023 while permitting more than two dozen petitioners to use the donor eggs to become mothers through surrogacy.
