The Enforcement Directorate on Monday questioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's PA Bibhav Kumar in the excise policy-linked money laundering case, officials said. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Durgesh Pathak too has been called for questioning in the case, they said.

The National Investigation Agency has issued summons to three Trinamul Congress leaders asking them to appear before its officers for questioning in connection with the Bhupatinagar blast case, an official said. The trio had skipped appearing before NIA officers when summoned for questioning last week.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi exuded confidence to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and said the new government will transfer Rs 1 lakh annually into accounts of women belonging to SC, ST, and backward categories. "Our manifesto mentions three to four revolutionary steps taken by us like transferring Rs 1 lakh into (bank) accounts of women belonging to SC and ST categories, backward classes, and for women from poor families. This way we will provide thousands of rupees in their accounts every month," he said.

Observing that everyone who makes allegations on social media cannot be put behind bars, the Supreme Court restored the bail to a YouTuber who was accused of making derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in 2021. The apex court said that the accused did not misuse his liberty by protesting and expressing his views and also rejected the request of the state government to impose a condition on Sattai to refrain from making scandalous remarks while on bail.

A court in Delhi denied interim bail to BRS leader K Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy-related money laundering case. Kavitha had approached the court for interim bail, saying her 16-year-old son has exams and needs his mother's 'moral and emotional support'.

Congress was left red-faced after a video surfaced on social media, showing a picture of Union Minister and BJP candidate Faggan Singh Kulaste on a banner at Rahul Gandhi's rally in Madhya Pradesh's Mandla Lok Sabha seat. The purported video showed a picture of Kulaste on a banner serving as a backdrop of the stage at the rally scheduled later in the day at Dhanora, some 80 km from Seoni district headquarters under the Mandla Lok Sabha seat.

NCERT issued a warning against pirated school textbooks, flagging possibilities of factually incorrect content. "Anyone found publishing NCERT textbooks, either in whole or in part, for commercial sale or using NCERT textbook content in their publications without obtaining explicit copyright permission, will face legal repercussions under the Copyright Act of 1957," a senior council official said.

A crusading Brazilian Supreme Court justice included Elon Musk as a target in an ongoing investigation over the dissemination of fake news and opened a separate investigation into the executive for alleged obstruction. Musk will be investigated for alleged intentional criminal instrumentalization of X as part of an investigation into a network of people known as digital militias who allegedly spread defamatory fake news and threats against Supreme Court justices, according to the text of the decision.

Allahabad High Court has held that 'kanyadaan' is not necessary for solemnisation of marriage under the Hindu Marriage Act, and only 'saptapadi' is an essential ceremony. In its order on March 22, the court said the Hindu Marriage Act merely provides for 'saptpadi' (seven steps or saat pheras) as an essential ceremony of a marriage.

A 22-year-old woman engineering student who went missing on March 30 from Pune in Maharashtra has been found murdered in the state's Ahmednagar district, a police official said. "The student was pursuing engineering from a college in Wagholi area here. On March 29, a male college friend and two others met her and dropped her at her hostel. On March 30, they took her to Ahmednagar. They sought a ransom of Rs 9 lakh from her parents. They then strangled her, buried the body on the outskirts of Ahmednagar and removed the SIM card of her cellphone," he said.
