Chinese President Xi Jinping will not attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi and the delegation will be led by Premier Li Qiang, the foreign ministry announced in Beijing. Spokesperson Mao Ning did not provide any reason for President Xi's absence from the high-profile conclave hosted by India for the first time.

ISRO said the Vikram lander successfully underwent a hop test when it made the soft-landing again on the lunar surface and the lander has been put into sleep mode. The rover, Pragyan was set on the sleep mode on September 2.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh  said that his government has filed an FIR against the president and three members of the Editors Guild of India (EGI) and accused them of trying to provoke clashes in the state. The Press Club of India condemned the registration of FIR. "This is a strong-arm tactic by the state government which amounts to intimidation of the apex media body of the country," PCI said in a statement.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hit out at the opposition over DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's comments on Sanatan Dharma, asking why Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot are 'silent' on the issue. INDIA bloc members should apologise for the insult to Sanatan Dharma or the country won't forgive them, the defence minister said.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has convened a meeting of the newly constituted CWC on September 16 in Hyderabad, AICC general secretary K C Venugopal announced. On the evening of September 17, a rally will be held near Hyderabad where the party will announce its guarantees for the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana, Venugopal said with general secretary Jairam Ramesh beside him.

The Congress announced that it will hold 'padyatras' in 722 districts on September 7 evening to commemorate the launch of Bharat Jodo Yatra in 2022 and take the 'mohabbat ki dukaan (shop to spread love)' message to the people. Congress general secretary in-charge K C Venugopal said that all those who believe in democracy and the values of this country are also very much enthused by the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Total assets declared by eight national parties in 2021-22 was Rs 8,829.16 crore, up from Rs 7,297.62 crore during 2020-21, poll rights body ADR said in its report. In financial year 2020-21, the BJP declared assets worth Rs 4,990 crore, up by 21.17 per cent to Rs 6,046.81 crore in 2021-22.

 A 24-year-old woman flight attendant has been found dead with her throat slit in an apartment in Mumbai following which police have arrested the residential society's housekeeping staffer on the charge of murder. The deceased, identified as Rupal Ogrey, hailed from Chhattisgarh and came to Mumbai in April for training with the Air India.

All online delivery services, except medicines, will be barred in New Delhi district during G20 Summit, Delhi Police said. As part of the G20 security arrangements Delhi Police has asked Delhi Metro to close the gates of its stations that open towards VVIPs' place of stay and routes, and the summit's venue. Offices in Delhi and adjoining areas of Noida and Gurugram have facilitated work-from-home arrangements for their employees during the G20 weekend.
