The CBI has registered an FIR into the alleged FCRA violations by news portal NewsClick and carried out raids at two locations. It is alleged that the portal received foreign funds in violations of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) case.

The Israeli military said one of its northern positions was attacked with anti-tank fire from Lebanon, but did not immediately provide details on any casualties or who might have been responsible. The first shipment of advanced US weapons and equipment have landed in Israel to boost the US ally in its war with Hamas, the Israel Ministry of Defence said. The White House said that there is no specific information about the role of Iran in the latest terrorist attack against Israel by Hamas, but it is complicit 'in a broad sense' for funding the military wing of the militant group.

A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court pronounced a split verdict on the Centre's plea for recall of its October 9 order granting permission to a married woman, a mother of two, to terminate her 26-week pregnancy. While Justice Kohli said she was not inclined to permit the 27-year-old woman to terminate her pregnancy, Justice Nagarathna dismissed the Centre's application seeking recall of the October 9 order, saying the previous order was well considered.

Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Shahid Latif, the mastermind of the 2016 attack on the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot, and his brother were gunned down by unidentified assailants outside a mosque in Pakistan's Sialkot district. Three motorcycle-borne men fired indiscriminately killing 53-year-old Latif and his brother identified as Haris Hashim on the spot and injuring another.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers conducted search operations at several rice mills located in at least four places in West Bengal’s Nadia district in connection with their ongoing investigation into the jobs scam, an officer said. “A good amount of money amassed from the jobs scam has been invested in rice mills. We have documents to prove that. Today’s raids are in this connection,” the ED officer said.

Work is on to restore connectivity in areas isolated by flash flood in north Sikkim by setting up temporary bridges and other means, while evacuating stranded tourists will continue. Out of the approximately 1700 tourists stranded in north Sikkim, a total of 690 tourists, including 26 foreigners, have been rescued by air from Lachen and Lachung towns by the Indian Air Force (IAF) since October 9.

Karthyayani Amma, who made history by becoming the oldest learner under the Kerala State Literacy Mission, died at her residence in Cheppad village in the coastal Alappuzha district of the state on October 10. She was reportedly bedridden for some time after suffering a stroke.
