Hitting out at Congress, PM Modi said that the National Democratic Alliance government worked more for development in 10 years than what Congress did in 60 years.
Scattered incidents of violence marred the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polls in the eight parliamentary constituencies of West Bengal as TMC and BJP workers clashed in various parts of violence-hit Birbhum and Bardhaman-Durgapur seats. Clashes broke out between supporters of TMC and BJP in Monteswar's Susunia area of Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha seat around noon, as BJP candidate Dilip Ghosh was on his way to a polling booth following complaints of booth jamming.
Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of chief minister after his arrest in a money laundering case related to excise policy scam. The court said it is a matter of propriety but there is no legal right seeking removal of Kejriwal as chief minister following his arrest.
BJP candidate for Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat K Madhavi Latha was booked by election authorities after a video clip in which she was purportedly asking burqa-clad women Muslim voters to show their faces to compare with the photo identity cards surfaced. She was also seen telling the policemen to allow voters into polling booths only after a thorough check.
India has never received anything which is specific and worthy of being pursued by its probe agencies, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said over a fourth arrest made by Canada in the killing of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. "We have never received anything which is specific and worthy of being pursued by our investigative agencies and I am not aware that anything has changed in the last few days in that regard," the minister said in response to a question during a press conference here.

The companies have said their products are safe and MDH added it does not use ethylene oxide at any stage of storing, processing, or packing of spices. Authorities in the United States, Australia and India are looking into the matter.

Flight operations at Mumbai airport were suspended for an hour and local trains were delayed as Mumbai witnessed unseasonal rains, accompanied by a dust storm. As many as 15 flights were diverted to different airports and the runways operation resumed at 5.03 pm, the airport operator said.
