At least 143 people were killed and several others injured when a powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal just before midnight on November 3, destroying hundreds of houses in the Himalayan country's remote mountainous region in the most devastating tremor since 2015. It is the most devastating earthquake in the country since the 2015 earthquake that killed around 9,000 people in the country and injured more than 22,000 people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel over the alleged 'Mahadev' betting app scam, and said the Congress leader should tell what links he has with the accused in the case. The Congress alleged that the claims made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Bhupesh Baghel are part of a 'conspiracy' hatched by the BJP to tarnish the Chhattisgarh chief minister's image and asserted that the people of the state would give a befitting reply to such tactics in the upcoming Assembly poll. The BJP accused the Congress of using hawala money from the illegally-run Mahadev betting app to fund its poll campaign in Chhattisgarh as it targeted Baghel over the allegation that he received more than Rs 500 crore kickback from the firm's promoters.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking why he identifies himself as an Other Backward Class (OBC) member when he considers poor as the only caste in the country. The word vanvasi is an insult to tribals and Congress will not accept it, he said.

A Chetak helicopter crashed at the runway of the naval air station, INS Garuda in Kochi, Navy sources said. The Indian Navy chopper which was on a training flight, crashed soon after the lift off, sources added.

The air quality in several areas of Delhi was recorded in the 'severe' category on Saturday morning while the minimum temperature in the national capital settled at 16.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, officials said. Pollution levels in Delhi and its surrounding areas dipped marginally overnight due to a relatively better wind speed, though the concentration of poisonous PM2.5 was still more than 80 times the healthy limit prescribed by the World Health Organization.

Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the ongoing World Cup after failing to recover from his ankle injury. Pacer Prasidh Krishna, who played 17 ODIs, has been named Pandya's replacement in the Indian squad, the ICC said in a media release.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a statement claimed several middlemen and property dealers 'aided' Rajasthan government's PHE department officials to siphon off 'illegally earned' money from the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. Locations in Jaipur and Dausa, including residential and official premises of senior Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) officials, IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary Subodh Agarwal, apart from private individuals were covered during the fresh searches.

Heavily-armed militants attacked a Pakistan Air Force training base in Punjab province, damaging three grounded aircraft, the army said. The attack comes hours after a series of terror strikes that killed at least 17 soldiers in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
