In pictures: Security forces intensify hunt for terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir following back to back attacks

The aim of the security forces is to track down and neutralise the terrorists responsible for the recent violence in the union territory

The aim: to track down and neutralise the terrorists responsible for the recent violence in the union territory. The police, collaborating with paramilitary forces, have intensified their efforts, particularly in the Narwal bypass area on Jammu's outskirts, following a woman's report of suspicious activity involving two individuals.

In a notable encounter in Kathua, security forces successfully neutralized two suspected Pakistani terrorists, recovering a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

The search operations have been expanded to cover the remote Arnas and Mahore areas of Reasi district, known terrorist hotbeds between 1995 and 2005. Despite these efforts, there has been no recent contact with the fleeing terrorists.

To aid in the manhunt, police released sketches of four terrorists involved in two of the recent attacks and announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to their capture. One individual matching the description was detained from a bus in Reasi and is currently being questioned. Security forces across Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts have been placed on high alert following intelligence inputs indicating a potential terror threat.
