Tornado in US: Wreckage is left behind the day after a deadly tornado struck Greenfield, Iowa, U.S. May 22, 2024 in a drone photograph. A powerful tornado ripped through a small Iowa town. killing multiple people and leaving at least a dozen injured, Reuters reported quoting authorities. At least a dozen people in Greenfield, a town of about 2,000 people, were injured in the twister.

Landslide in Papua New Guinea: A man looks at the site of a landslide in Yambali village, Enga Province, Papua New Guinea, May 27, 2024. A massive landslide swept through a remote area of northern Papua New Guinea early on May 24, burying a village in a remote part of the country difficult to reach for aid workers and heavy excavation equipment. The government said 2,000 people had been buried alive, but a U.N. estimate later that day put the death toll at around 670, reports Reuters.
