The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in the case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy.
Kejriwal was already granted interim bail in the excise policy linked money laundering case of the Enforcement Directorate by the apex court on July 12.

Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita on Friday congratulated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to her husband and wished for the release of other leaders lodged in Tihar jail.
Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain is in jail in connection with a separate money laundering case of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
"Congratulations to AAP family! Kudos for staying strong. Wishing also the soonest release of our other leaders," Sunita said in a post on X.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav hailed the bail granted to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Supreme Court as "victory of Constitution".
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister also described Kejriwal as "popular and pro-public welfare" CM and slammed the BJP for being "against the Constitution" and "misusing" it.
"The bail of Delhi's popular and public welfare Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal is a 'victory of the Constitution'. Only those who are against the Constitution misuse the Constitution. The knock on the door of justice is always heard. The world has moved forward on this tradition till now and will continue to do so," Yadav posted in Hindi on X.

In a post on X, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said, "Satyamev Jayate." Kejriwal's release from the Tihar Jail will be a shot in the arm for the party as it prepares for the elections in Delhi and Haryana.

Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who was granted bail in the excise policy cases of the ED and CBI by the apex court on August 9, said on X, "Today truth won again in the fight against lies and conspiracies. I once again pay my tribute to the thinking and foresight of Baba Saheb Ambedkar ji, who 75 years ago had strengthened the common man against any future dictator."

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha thanked the apex court on the decision.
Raghav Chadha said that Kejriwal is returning after a long time. He said that Arvind Kejriwal is not just a name but a brand of honest politics. Due to his increasing popularity, he had to go to jail for 6 months. But he is returning again. Today all the mothers and sisters of Delhi are celebrating. AAP will become stronger in the coming times.

In a post on X, Delhi Minister Atishi said, "Satyamev Jayate. Truth can be troubled, not defeated."

Former cricketer turned AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh also welcomed Kejriwal's release, saying "he will continue to dedicate himself to serve the people".
"Glad that our beloved leader Shri @ArvindKejriwal Ji got bail in Supreme Court. This will definitely rejuvenate the party workers and give wings to @AamAadmiParty campaign in Haryana. He will continue to dedicate himself to serve the people," Singh said in a post on X.

Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh said dictatorship will not work in democracy and slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying when a fighter emerges, dictators bow down.

BJP leader Amit Malviya on the social media handle X said, "The Supreme Court may have granted bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal but the Apex Court has declined the plea challenging the legality of the arrest. So, prima facie there is voluminous evidence against Kejriwal. It is only a matter of time before he is convicted and back in jail."

The National Spokesperson of Bhartiya Janata Party said, "The court has affirmed Mr Arvind Kejriwal's arrest as valid."
What is AAP celebrating? Since when does ' Bail make someone innocent '? The Court has not passed a single observation on the merit of the case! Mr Kejriwal is barred from entering the CM office, or signing any documents.
Why should the people of Delhi suffer under a leader who can’t even perform his duties even after being 150 days in jail like criminals accused of serious crime?

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia quoted the Supreme Court's comment in which it did not consider Kejriwal's arrest illegal. The BJP leader said that Kejriwal should resign immediately, the jail CM has now become the bail CM. He has no morality left. If Kejriwal is honest then why did the court impose conditions. The court has shown the mirror to Kejriwal. Kejriwal has no right to remain in office.

Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva said, "We urge that if he has any morality left, he should resign immediately...Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP have no moral character. They are far away from the true sense of 'Satyameva Jayate'...Supreme Court too says that the arrest was legal. Despite that if you say 'Satyameva Jayate' - aisa 'Satyameva' aapko Mubarak."

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, "First Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren got the bail and now it is Arvind Kejriwal... The Supreme Court found this case to be bailable... The central government is misusing central agencies as the frontal organisations against the Opposition parties. There is an environment of fear in the country... This is a unanimous decision of the Supreme Court and we welcome it..."

The RJD leader expressed happiness over Arvind Kejriwal getting bail and targeted BJP. He said, "This was bound to happen and it will happen in every case because all the cases were made fake. He said that the High Court's comment in Hemant Soren's case and whatever happened in this case today is like a slap. He said that not only ED, IT, CBI have been slapped but also those who make these plans. Along with this, he congratulated AAP and the entire team of the party.
