Akash Deep who hails from Bihar but plays domestic cricket for Bengal made his Test debut against England on February 23, 2024. His three-wicket burst of Ben Duckett (11), Ollie Pope (0) and Zak Crawley (42) came in a span of 10 balls.
The cricketer made his First Class debut for Bengal on December 25, 2019, in a Ranji Trophy match against Andhra Pradesh at Eden Gardens. His List A debut was on September 24, 2019 against Gujarat at Jaipur.
The 27-year-old has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League. He played seven IPL matches and took six wickets. He had previously been a net bowler for the Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2020 in the UAE and has also bowled in the Kolkata Knight Riders' nets at Eden Gardens.
He made his T20I debut for Bengal on March 9, 2019 against Maharashtra at Indore. In T20Is, Akash Deep has taken 48 wickets in 41 matches with his best figures being 4/35.
Akash Deep was one of the chief architects as Bengal reached the finals of the Ranji Trophy in 2019 before losing to Saurashtra. He was part of a three-pronged pace attack that was Bengal's bowling backbone for the past three seasons, along with Mukesh Kumar and Ishan Porel.
Besides his strong reputation as a bowler, the cricketer is very handy with the bat in the lower-order. He had scored a half-century in the U-23 domestic tournament for Bengal.
