12th Fail, starring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar, initially received a lukewarm response at the box office, earning Rs 69 crore worldwide, but gained a strong following after its release on OTT.
Based on Anurag Pathak’s 2019 book of the same name, the story of 12th Fail follows Manoj Kumar Sharma’s (Vikrant Massey) journey from poverty to the Indian Police Service. Born in Chambal, his life is marked by challenges, including a suspension his father faced for opposing corruption. Manoj initially attempts to cheat in exams but changes after a DSP’s advice. Struggling through financial hardships and failures, he pursues his dream with the help of mentors and friends, eventually becoming an IPS officer.
