Zaheer Iqbal has posted a throwback picture with his wife Sonakshi Sinha, recalling how a moment at the beginning of their relationship in 2017 had made him realise that “it is forever”.
"This day This moment This feeling I knew it’s Forever," Zaheer wrote on Instagram on Monday alongside the picture that captures him and Sonakshi gazing into each other’s eyes.
Sonakshi reacted to Zaheer’s post. "My jaan. Still singing to each other...May it never stop," reads her comment.
Actors Pulkit Samrat, Siddharth, Dia Mirza Rekhi and Sangeeta Bijlani also reacted to Zaheer’s post with hearts.
Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot on 23 June at the actress’s sea-facing Bandra West apartment in Mumbai. They were surrounded by their loved ones, including Sonakshi's parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha and Zaheer’s dad Iqbal Ratansi.
A video shared by the newlyweds shows that Sonakshi’s Heeramandi co-star Aditi Rao Hydari and her husband Siddharth were also present. Zaheer and Sonakshi’s Double XL co-star Huma Qureshi was also in attendance.
"Family, friends, love, friendship, laughter, silly comments, kids running around, happy tears, warm hugs, excitement, bloopers, screeches, fun, joy, anticipation, nerves, emotions, and above all just pure happiness. This was our chaotic little Shaadi ka ghar, and it was perfect, it was Us," the couple captioned the video on Instagram.
In her wedding post, Sonakshi revealed that she and Zaheer had been in a relationship for seven years before they exchanged vows. "On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017), in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs, leading up to this moment, where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods, we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope, and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever," wrote the actress alongside the carousel on Instagram.
As per media reports, Sonakshi and Zaheer first met on the sets of Notebook (2017). The couple collaborated for the music video of the song Blockbuster, which was released in September 2022. Later, they co-starred in the comedy-drama Double XL (2022).
Sonakshi last appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s maiden web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The period drama is currently streaming on Netflix.
The actress will next be seen in Aditya Sarpotdar’s upcoming horror comedy Kakuda, alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. Kakuda is slated to premiere on ZEE5 on July 12.
