Netflix India has dropped the first teaser for its upcoming prison drama, Black Warrant, created by Vikramaditya Motwane and starring Zahan Kapoor as Tihar jailer Sunil Kumar Gupta.
Released by the streaming platform on Thursday, the one-minute-14-second-long video opens with Sunil interviewing for the job he believes will enable him to serve his country.
Sunil is determined to take on some of India’s most notorious offenders imprisoned at Asia's largest prison, Tihar, dubbed the most unforgiving jail in the country.
Jarring visuals of blood splattering on Sunil’s face and gruesome thrashing sessions dominate the teaser of this gripping and gritty tale.
Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur and Sidhant Gupta will also play key roles in Black Warrant.
Presented by Applause Entertainment, the series is a dramatised adaptation of former Tihar Jail superintendent Sunil Gupta and journalist-author Sunetra Choudhury’s book, Black Warrant: Confessions Of A Tihar Jailer.
Black Warrant marks Zahan Kapoor’s series debut and is slated to drop on Netflix on January 10.
