The Greatest Beer Run Ever

Apple TV dropped the trailer of their upcoming biographical action-comedy film, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, set during the Vietnam war. Starring Zac Efron and Russell Crowe, the film is based on the New York Times bestseller The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A Memoir of Friendship, Loyalty, and War by Joanna Molloy and John Donohue.

The almost three-minute-long trailer gives us a picture of Chickie (played by Efron), a 26-year-old slacker with a fiery passion for his friends in Vietnam. He gets outraged by the anti-war protestors and vows to get beer to all his neighbourhood boys serving in Vietnam. He finds an unlikely ally in war photographer Arthur Coates (Russell Crowe) in the process.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever is directed by Peter Ferrelly, who previously helmed Green Book. Apart from Efron and Crowe, the film also stars ake Picking, Will Ropp, Archie Renaux, Kyle Allen, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, and Bill Murray.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever will be streaming from September 30.

About Fate

MGM shared the official trailer of their upcoming romantic comedy film About Fate, starring Holidate fame Emma Roberts and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl actor Thomas Mann.

The two-minute-40-second-long trailer opens with a side-by-side comparison of Griffin (Mann) and Margot’s (Roberts) respective relationships. A chance encounter followed by a series of romcom-essential montages make them fall in love with each other despite having partners.

About Fate is directed by Marius Vaysberg and the screenplay is written by Tiffany Paulsen, who previously penned the script for Netflix’s romantic comedy Holidate.

About Fate will premiere in theatres on September 9.

The Empress

Netflix released the official teaser of their upcoming German-language period series The Empress. The teaser gives us a vibe of Netflix’s acclaimed series The Crown which revolves around England’s royal family.

The official synopsis reads, “Great love, a throne and an entire kingdom that looks up to her. But Elisabeth's (Devrim Lingnau) path is anything but easy, as she must fight her way to Franz (Philip Froissant) through intrigue, etiquette and taboos.”

The upcoming series is based on the iconic Empress of Austria-Hungary and is led by Devrim Lingnau and Philip Froissant in the role of Elisabeth von Wittelsbach and Franz Joseph, respectively.

The Empress will be streaming from September 29.

Wednesday Addams

Netflix dropped the teaser of Wednesday Addams, Tim Burton’s upcoming series based on a fictional character created by American cartoonist Charles Addams. It stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jenna Ortega and Luis Guzman in important roles.

In the short two-minute teaser, we get a glimpse of how Wednesday is doing when separated from her family. After getting expelled from several schools, she is sent to Nevermore Academy. There, she’ll work to find a killer, learn about her abilities and try to forge friendships with her classmates.

The Ghost

Sony Music South shared the official teaser of superstar Nagarjuna’s upcoming action film The Ghost on Thursday. Directed by Praveen Sattaru, The Ghost will also star Sonal Chauhan and Gul Panag in prominent roles.

In the two-minute-19-second-long promo titled Thamahagane, Nagarjuna opens a massive box containing a rare metal, Tamahagane. He forges a sword out of the metal to take on the underworld goons heading towards his hideout. “The sword feels proud in the hands of The King,” reads the text in the promo.

The official trailer of The Ghost will be released on August 25, and the film is slated to hit theatres on October 5.

Sidney

Apple TV released the official trailer of their upcoming documentary titled Sidney on legendary Hollywood icon Sidney Poitier.

The two-minute-48-second-long trailer examines the legacy of Poitier, who died earlier this year at 94. Poitier was one of the most acclaimed and recognisable movie stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and the first black man to receive the best actor Oscar. Poitier was also a director and an activist for the Civil Rights Movement. The film will feature interviews from Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Robert Redford, Lenny Kravitz, Barbra Streisand and Spike Lee.

Directed by Reginald Hudlin and produced by Oprah Winfrey with Derik Murray for Harpo Productions and Network Entertainment, Sidney will be streaming on Apple TV from September 23.
