You People

The official teaser of Netflix’s upcoming comedy film You People is now out. Helmed by Kenya Barris, the film stars Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren London, Sam Jay, Molly Gordon, Mike Epps, Nia Long, Deon Cole, Rhea Perlman and David Duchovny.

The teaser shows Hill, Murphy and Long at a restaurant. Hill’s character tries to wow the parents of his love interest and tries hard to blend. In order to get accepted as a member of the family, he drops the names of several revered figures in the black community of America.

You People will be streaming on Netflix from January 27, 2023.

Mickey 17

Warner Bros Pictures on Tuesday unveiled the first look teaser of Academy Award-winning South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming sci-fi film Mickey 17. The film is based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton and is headlined by British actor Robert Pattinson. It will also feature Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo and Holliday Grainger among others.

In the short teaser, Pattinson is shown with his eyes closed, lying in some kind of futuristic chamber. As the camera turns and zooms into his face, Robert suddenly opens his eyes. The film is co-produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Mickey 17 will hit the theatres on March 29, 2024.

Champions

Focus Features has dropped the trailer of its upcoming sports drama film Champions. Directed by Bobby Farrelly, the film stars Stars Woody Harrelson in the lead role along with Ernie Hudson, Cheech Marin, Matt Cook, Kaitlin Olson and Madison Tevlin. It is the English-language remake of Spanish film Campeones (2018).

In the trailer, we see a former minor-league basketball coach (Harrelson) who has been asked to manage a team of players with intellectual disabilities. Despite his misgivings, he soon realises that despite his doubts, this team can go further than they ever imagined.

Champions will arrive in the cinemas on March 24, 2023.

Harry & Meghan

Netflix has dropped a teaser of its upcoming documentary series Harry & Meghan. Directed by Liz Garbus, the six-episode series chronicles the controversy around the couple’s decision to step down as senior members of the British royal family.

In the teaser, we see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story. The series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles as royal family members.

Harry & Meghan will premiere in two parts on December 8 and 15.

Bakasuran

The official trailer of veteran Tamil actor Selvaraghavan’s upcoming crime-thriller film Bakasuran has come out. Written and directed by Mohan G, the film is based on true events and has Nataraja Subramani in the lead role alongside Selvaraghavan. It also features Radharavi, Rajan K, Rams, Saravanan Subbiah, D Gunanithi, Tharakshi, Mansoor Ali Khan, Devadharshini and P L Thennappan.

The trailer takes us to a lawless land where crime rules. It promises a gritty portrayal of those who have been fighting against poverty.

Kantara (Hindi)

Rishab Shetty’s Kannada-language film Kantara’s Hindi-dubbed version will come on Netflix on December 9. The streaming service shared a video featuring the director-actor. The period mythological-drama film, which grossed over Rs 400 crore, during its theatrical run also stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Promod Shetty and Shanil Guru.

Netflix India shared the video on Instagram with the captino “Rishab Shetty has finally answered the question “When is Kantara coming in Hindi?”, and we couldn’t be more excited! 💥🤩 Kantara is coming to Netflix in Hindi on December 9th.”
