Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone’s next film Kinds of Kindness to release on June 21

The Greek filmmaker’s latest work Poor Things fetched Stone her second Academy Award recently

Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos and Academy Award-winning actress Emma Stone are teaming up once again for an upcoming project titled Kinds of Kindness, slated to hit theatres on June 21, Searchlight Pictures, the studio behind the distribution of the film, announced on social media.

“KINDS OF KINDNESS. The new film from Yorgos Lanthimos. Starring Academy Award winner Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer. In theaters June 21st,” the official handle of the studio posted on X.

Kinds of Kindness reunites Stone with her Poor Things co-stars Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley. Joining them are Joe Alwyn from the critically-acclaimed The Favourite, along with Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Hunter Schafer, and Mamoudou Athie rounding out an ensemble cast.

Yorgos Lanthimos, known for his distinctive storytelling style, has once again collaborated with Efthimis Filippou, for co-writing the screenplay of Kinds of Kindness. Their partnership has yielded memorable works like Dogtooth (2009), The Lobster (2015) and Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) in the past.

Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos had previously collaborated on The Favourite (2018), Bleat (2022), and most recently Poor Things, a genre-bending fantasy comedy that earned Stone her second Academy Award for best actress. Distributed by Searchlight, Poor Things received four Academy Awards in total, including make-up, production design and costume design.
