Sidharth Malhotra’s on-flight commando fights with all his might to rescue the passengers of a hijacked plane in the first teaser of Yodha, dropped by the makers on Monday.

A gun-wielding Sidharth shows up in a camo outfit in the second half of the teaser, beating up militants and displaying his close combat skills.

The teaser begins with a voiceover of the leader of the hijackers informing the passengers that their flight has been hijacked. Soon, the airport staff, including a sari-clad Raashii Khanna, get to learn about the situation and swing into action. The scene cuts to them enquiring about the on-flight commando and glimpses of a blazer-sporting Sidharth fighting the hijackers on the flight.

The protagonist is seen sporting a camouflage outfit as he emerges from a stack of hay on a moving truck in a scene shot before the hijack. Alternating between high-octane scenes of Sidharth on the hijacked flight as well as on ground missions, the teaser presents the actor in a soldier look after the 2021 blockbuster Shershaah.

Scenes of the actor’s past missions at the Election Commission Office and chasing a flight are particularly striking.

Disha Patani, who is set to star alongside Sidharth, also appears in the teaser as an air hostess dressed in a red sari.

“After terrorists hijack a passenger plane, an off-duty soldier aboard devises a strategy to defeat the hijackers and ensure the passengers' survival when the engine fails,” reads IMDb’s official synopsis of the film.

Last week, Yodha became the first Hindi film to have its poster unfurled by skydivers at 13,000 feet in air. The poster featured Sidharth wielding a gun as drones emitting green and saffron smoke filled the air.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Sidharth wrote, “We’ve taken off! Gear up for the high-octane action on its way. #YodhaTeaser out now. ✈️ #Yodha in cinemas March 15.”

Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, Yodha is a joint venture of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Amazon Prime.

Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan, Yodha is slated to release in theatres on March 15.
