Yash, Rituparna and Nussrat star in social thriller Shikarr

As a surprise element in the film, a fourth character will be there who will be pivotal to the story

The film Shikarr is a social thriller set against the backdrop of rural Bengal. Yash and Rituparna Sengupta star in pivotal roles and will share the screenspace together for the first time. Nussrat Jahan will be seen in a special role, playing the character of Jinia.

The film is set in a place called Shantipur whose local messiah/ hero is Dev (essayed by Yash) a flamboyant character who rides around town helping young and old. The people of Shantipur worship him like a true hero and women are crazy about him. Agni, a single mother (played by Rituparna Sengupta), is posted as a government official in the town who soon gets embroiled in a controversy that makes her come face to face with Dev. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

As a surprise element in the film, a fourth character will be there who will be pivotal to the story. The film will be directed by Debraj Sinha, who directed Rituparna Sengupta in the boxoffice hit Akkarshan.

The music and background score of the film will be helmed by Aditi Bose. Shikarr will also see a lot of action sequences and fight master Rajesh Kannan will be present from Chennai to supervise all the heavy-duty action. The film is set to go on floors end of March.
