Yash Raj Films (YRF) has slashed ticket prices for Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan in anticipation of a spurt in footfall in theatres this weekend. Viewers can now watch the Sidharth Anand-directed spy action thriller, which also features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, at a flat rate of Rs 200 per ticket on select national chains like PVR, INOX and Cinepolis.
Since its release on January 25, Pathaan has been breaking box office records. The film recently joined the Rs 500-crore club in India. To celebrate this milestone, YRF celebrated February 17 as Pathaan Day, slashing the ticket prices to Rs 110.
Reacting to YRF’s initiative of celebrating Pathaan Day with slashed ticket prices, Shah Rukh said now he would have to watch the movie again. “What a good thing to do. Thank u @yrf Can u arrange some free popcorn also! No??” the actor tweeted.
Pathaan is currently facing competition from Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania at the box office. But the action thriller movie has been holding its ground despite a reduced number of shows. It garnered Rs 2.5 crore nett at the box office in India on Friday.
