Gal Gadot plays the Evil Queen in Marc Webb’s upcoming adaptation of the Disney classic Snow White, which stars Rachel Zegler as the Disney princess, reveals a trailer for the film dropped on Tuesday.
The two-minute-24-second-long trailer begins with Zegler’s Snow White recalling how after her father’s demise, her stepmother, the Evil Queen, took over the country. And as Gadot’s Evil Queen reigned supreme, Zegler’s Snow White was pushed to the shadows. To make matters worse for Snow White, the Evil Queen’s magic mirror tells her that her stepdaughter is the “fairest of them all”.
In order to save herself from the clutches of the Evil Queen, Snow White escapes to the forest, where she comes across the seven dwarves. Teaming up with the dwarves, the princess embarks on a journey to take things into their hands and save their kingdom.
The trailer ends with the Evil Queen dressed as an old woman and offering Snow White a poisonous apple.
While many fans have appreciated Gadot as the Evil Queen, Zegler has been receiving a lot of flak for her role. Also, the use of CGI for the dwarves have also been criticised on social media.
Snow White is slated to hit theatres on March 21, 2025. It’s co-written by Erin Cressida Wilson and Greta Gerwig, who directed the blockbuster Barbie last year.
