George Clooney and Brad Pitt play rivals who reluctantly join forces to cover up a high-profile crime in the trailer of Jon Watts’s upcoming thriller Wolfs. The film sees Clooney and Pitt reuniting after 16 years since their previous collaborations in Joel and Ethan Coen’s Burn After Reading (2008) and Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven franchise.
Wolfs is slated to arrive in cinemas on September 20.
Dropped by production company Apple TV on Wednesday, the two-minute-38-second-long trailer of Wolfs opens with a woman standing next to a corpse of a boy in a hotel room. She frantically makes a call to Jack (Clooney), who promptly arrives at the hotel and boasts of his unparalleled expertise in handling high-profile crimes. Ironically, in the next moment, there is a knock at the door and Pitt’s Nick enters, also hired to cover up the same high-profile crime.
Jack and Nick are disgusted when their superior (played by Poorna Jagannathan) orders them to work together to dispose of the corpse in the room. After Jack uses a clever trick to load the body into a car, the trunk space suddenly opens, revealing that the boy is actually alive.
The trailer goes on to focus on the rivalry between Jack and Nick as they get involved in fisticuffs during a drunken brawl at a bar. However, the duo reconcile after spotting gun-wielding adversaries in the pub and went into full action mode to take out them.
In 2023, Clooney reprised the role of Bruce Wayne in a cameo in The Flash. Additionally, the 63-year-old actor donned the director’s hat for the biographical sports drama The Boys in the Boat, which was released on December 25, 2023. The film starred Callum Turner and Joel Edgerton.
Pitt last appeared in Damien Chazelle’s epic historical black comedy drama film Babylon alongside Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston and Tobey Maguire.
