The makers of Allu Arjun’s 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise on Wednesday dropped a 20-second teaser of an announcement video for the film’s much-anticipated sequel Pushpa: The Rule, kickstarting its promotional campaign.
“#WhereIsPushpa ? The search ends soon! The HUNT before the RULE 🪓Reveal on April 7th at 4.05 PM 🔥,” the official Twitter handle of the movie posted.
The teaser launch coincided with the birthday of Rashmika Mandanna, the female lead of the franchise. The video begins with a bike-borne silhouette of a man escaping into the forests. The year is 2004 and a voiceover says, “Pushpa, who is wounded by bullets, has escaped from the Tirupati prison.”
The video then breaks into a montage of angry protests as the words “Where is Pushpa?” flash on the screen. The answer to this question will be revealed on April 7, a day before Allu Arjun's birthday.
Written and Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rule also stars Fahadh Faasil, Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Suneel, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh in key roles. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for the film, with cinematography and editing by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and Karthika Srinivas respectively.
Pushpa: The Rule is expected to release later this year or in early 2024.
