Singer Sonu Nigam performed his iconic 1997 track Yeh Dil Deewana from Subhash Ghai's romantic drama Pardes at Adnan Sami's 51st birthday celebration, which was also attended by Mahima Chaudhry and Shaan Mukherji.
“The Pardes Réunion after 27 years,” wrote Sonu on Instagram, sharing the video on Friday.
The clip shows Adnan playing the piano while Sonu sings. The singer was joined by Shaan and Mahima in the video.
Cricketer Irfan Pathan reacted to the video. “Missed such a wonderful day,” read his comment on the post.
Released on August 8, 1997 Pardes starred Shah Rukh Khan, Mahima and Apurva Agnihotri in lead roles, with Alok Nath, Amrish Puri and Himani Shivpuri in supporting roles.
Pardes follows a love triangle between Arjun Saagar (Shah Rukh), Kusum Ganga (Mahima) and Rajiv (Apurva). Upon its release, the movie earned over Rs 40.90 crore worldwide, emerging as the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1997.
Sonu Nigam was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by The National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU), UK, in June. The 50-year-old singer recently concluded a UK-wide tour, performing in London, Leeds, Glasgow and Birmingham, celebrating 30 years of his chart-topping hits, including Kal Ho Naa Ho, Shukran Allah and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
