Actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay strummed a guitar and crooned the Bengali romantic number Tomay Dilam, originally sung by the Bangla band Moheener Ghoraguli, to wish his wife Piya Chakraborty on her birthday on August 16.
The video shot at Parambrata’s Kolkata residence shows the actor sporting a white t-shirt and carrying a guitar. “It’s past midnight… It’s your birthday! And because it is, I wish to gift you this song … in my hoarse unpractised voice,” wrote Parambrata, sharing his rendition of the song on Instagram.
“Hope it gives you some joy, and reason to look forward to tomorrow… in these very dark times…#happybirthday love @piya_chakraborty Here’s to being in arms of each other, as friends , lovers and partners… in love and other things,” he signed off.
Responding to the post, Piya commented, “Thank you @parambratachattopadhyay Indeed it filled my heart with joy.. Here’s to love in the times of despair and rage. ♥️”
Parambrata and Piya tied the knot on November 27, 2023 in Kolkata in a private ceremony at Parambrata’s residence, followed by a reception attended by their friends and family. The couple often post glimpses of their vacations and record reels singing together.
Piya is a social activist who works with an NGO in Kolkata.
