Actor-producer Vin Diesel has teased the 11th Fast and Furious film as the last film of the action-thriller franchise in a recent post on social media.
Sharing a picture of his character Dominic Toretto from the film franchise, the 56-year-old actor recently wrote on Instagram that it would be an “understatement” to say that his and the entire team’s excitement for the finale is “incredibly powerful”.
Diesel, who stars in the films alongside Michelle Rodriguez, said the story transcended the screen because of the fans who have been the “backbone of the global saga”. “This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together,” he signed off.
The finale, titled Fast 11, is a sequel to last year’s Fast X. Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris will reprise their roles in the film. Dwayne Johnson is also set to return to the franchise as Luke Hobbs, a highly-skilled bounty hunter.
The Fast and Furious franchise began with 2011’s The Fast and the Furious, which introduced audiences to the underground world of street racing in Los Angeles. Created by director Rob Cohen and screenwriter Gary Scott Thompson, the film series is known for its adrenaline-pumping action sequences, high-stakes heists and emphasis on family and loyalty.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast 11 is slated to hit theatres on April 4, 2025.
