Actors Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna have wrapped up shooting for Ranjan Chandel’s upcoming historical drama The Sabarmati Report, slated to hit the theatres on May 3.
Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the film's set on Instagram, Raashii wrote, “And it’s a wrap for #thesabarmatireport where we chased some truths and deadlines. Here’s to the power of stories and the voices that need to be heard. Cannot wait for you all to see this story unfold on the big screen.”
The first photo of the carousel shows Raashii enjoying a tete-a-tete with her co-star Vikrant, who essays the role of journalist Shraban Kumar in the film. The trailer, dropped by the makers last month, offered a glimpse of Kumar’s relentless efforts to unravel the truth behind the burning of the Sabarmati Express in Gujarat’s Godhra on the morning of February 27, 2002. At least 59 people died in the incident.
The following photo shows Vikrant and Raashii sharing a candid moment with director Chandel. While Raashii last appeared in Dharma Productions’ latest action thriller Yodha starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vikrant is all set to star in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, a sequel to Vinil Mathew’s 2021 Netflix thriller Haseen Dillruba. In the film, Vikrant will share screen space with Taapsee Pannu.
One of the pictures shows Raashii standing on the footboard of a train. The presence of a cinematographer indicates that she was filming a scene for the movie.
The final picture in the carousel shows the lead actors posing for the lens with the director. Both Raashii and Vikrant stand wrapped in colourful towels, suggesting that they had just completed the filming of a sequence in the film.
The Sabarmati Report will also feature Jawan actress Ridhi Dogra in a key role. The film is jointly produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.
