Vikrant Massey calls Manjummel Boys his favourite movie of the year: ‘It reignited the never-give-up attitude within me’

Directed by Chidambaram S. Poduval, the survival thriller is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar

Malayalam film Manjummel Boys has reignited the “never give up” attitude in actor Vikrant Massey, he said in a video shared by Disney+ Hotstar on Sunday, calling the adventure thriller his favourite movie of the year.

“You know what is more thrilling than a survival thriller film? A survival thriller that’s based on a true story,” the 12th Fail actor said about the film, currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

“Like everybody else, I watched Manjummel Boys and it reignited the never-give-up attitude within me,” Vikrant said, alluding to the “restart” attitude portrayed in his 2023 hit film 12th Fail.

Vikrant said that Manjummel Boys is a story of friendship, will power and persistence. “Its stunning visuals and mind-blowing performances have made it a blockbuster hit,” he said.

“It’s a must-watch for everybody and for me, it’s already my favourite film of the year so far,” the actor signed off.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Disney+ Hotstar wrote, “The film that everyone is talking about! Watch #ManjummelBoys now streaming in Hindi. Don’t miss this one.”

Based on a true incident from 2006, Manjummel Boys follows the story of a group of friends from a small town called Manjummel near Kochi who face a series of misadventures during their vacation in Tamil Nadu’s Kodaikanal. The film, which released in theatres on February 22, is directed by Chidambaram S. Poduval.

Vikrant will be next seen in The Sabarmati Report alongside Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra. According to IMDb’s official synopsis, the film showcases the events that took place on Sabarmati Express near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat on the morning of February 27, 2002.
