The first teaser for Vikrant Massey and Mouni Roy’s upcoming film Blackout was dropped by JioCinema on Tuesday.
The one-minute-long teaser, also featuring comedian-actor Sunil Grover, begins with a raincoat-sporting Vikrant crashing his car into another vehicle while an ominous voiceover plays in the background. When he gets out of his car and examines one he crashed into, Vikrant finds out that it is loaded with smuggled gold and cash. The next scene suggests that he loots the toppled car as the smugglers inside lay unconscious.
The subsequent scenes feature Vikrant sporting a curly moustache and smiling smugly. While Sunil looks like he has kidnapped someone, Mouni can be seen confused during a fight scene. The tagline “Ek raat ka suffer (one night’s suffering)” hints at a maddening night full of thrill, car chases and gun fights.
Recently, the makers also dropped a poster for the film. In the picture, Vikrant and Mouni look shocked, while Sunil holds a spade and smiles. Saurabh Ghadge and Karan Sonawane, on the other hand, sit inside a red car and look bewildered.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Niraj Kothari, Blackout is slated to stream on JioCinema from June 7. The film is written by Devang Bhavsar, Abbas Dalal and Hussain Dalal.
After getting plaudits for his performance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 2023 movie 12th Fail, Vikrant is also set to star in The Sabarmati Report alongside Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra. Mouni was last seen in the Disney+ Hotstar series Showtime alongside Emraan Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah.
