The makers of the film also unveiled the title teaser of the upcoming film earlier on Wednesday. The teaser promises an action-packed drama possibly set in rural Tamil Nadu. Vikram plays the role of gangster Kaali in the film.

The film is directed by SU Arun Kumar and the background score is composed by GV Prakash. The makers are yet to announce the release date of Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2.

As a tribute to the Aparichit actor, the makers of Thangalaan, another upcoming project of Vikram shared a video of Vikram transitioning for a film. They shared the video on their official Instagram handle, wishing the actor on his birthday.

“An iconic talent, inspiring awe with grit and glory, delivering performances that defy expectations,” wrote the filmmakers along with the video.

Directed by Pa Panjith, Thangalaan focuses on the real story of the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in Karnataka. The film delves into the story of how the people of KGF saved the mine from the British rulers. The movie also portrays how the residents ingeniously devised ways to evade exploitation by the colonisers. The film is set in the 19th century before India gained its independence from British rule.

Thangalan is slated to release this April with the date yet to be announced. The film will be released in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi apart from Tamil.
