Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda is set to work in a new project with filmmaker Parasuram, who previously directed the superhit Telugu movie Geetha Govindam with the actor.
The Arjun Reddy actor yesterday retweeted an image shared by Shree Venkateshwara Creations in which he is seen flanked by Parasuram and producer Dil Raju. “We are getting back together. @ParasuramPetla @SVC_official,” he wrote.
Vijay and Parasuram’s earlier collaboration — Geetha Govindam (2018) — became a huge hit and established Vijay Deverakonda as one of the leading actors of the Telugu film industry. Last month, Vijay announced his new film with Jersey director Gowtam Tinnanuri.
The 33-year-old actor made his debut with Ravi Babu-directed romantic comedy Nuvvila in 2011. However, his first leading role was in 2016’s romantic coming-of-age film Pelli Choopulu, directed by Tharun Bhascker. He rose to superstardom for his performance as a violent and alcoholic doctor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2017 romantic drama Arjun Reddy.
Vijay was last seen in Puri Jagannadh’s sports action film Liger, which also marked the actor’s Bollywood debut. Produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film tanked at the box office. The actor will next be seen in Jana Gana Mana, which is being directed by Puri Jagannadh and is scheduled to release on August 3.
