Vicky Kaushal’s electrifying moves and sizzling chemistry with Triptii Dimri in Bad Newz song Tauba Tauba have been making headlines, with the music video garnering over 27 million views on YouTube within a week of its July 2 release.
Vicky’s much-loved reels and photos set to the Karan Aujla-sung track have also been winning the internet lately, with fans going gaga over his charm and dance moves.
The craze for the foot-tapping number kicked off with the actor teasing its release in a video that shows him crooning the lyrics and grooving to its pulsating beats with the singer. “Sneak peek today…Song out tomorrow!!! #TaubaTauba,” the 36-year-old actor captioned his post on Instagram.
Vicky shared a clip capturing some of his moves shortly after the song became the second most-watched video on YouTube following its premiere. “Your love for #TaubaTauba is legendary. Keep looping, grooving & loving,” wrote the actor sharing the video on Instagram.
Spotify India dropped a video of Vicky singing the song, rapping its lyrics along with Karan. “Vicky’s got the vibes on autopilot, can’t even leave him unattended for a second,” wrote the music streaming platform on Instagram alongside the video.
A carousel of stills from the shoot of the song shows Vicky and Triptii flaunting their looks. While Vicky looks dapper in a black suit and a black leather jacket, Triptii turns heads in a cut-out golden mini dress.
Dharma Productions also shared a behind-the-scenes video providing a glimpse into the making of the song. The montage shows Vicky rehearsing his steps and performing them with elan in front of cameras positioned at different angles.
Sharing another video from the rehearsals, the actor wrote, “The hard work, the teamwork and the footwork came together for this party anthem. Here’s a glimpse of everything that went behind #TaubaTauba.”
Vicky performing the hook step of Tauba Tauba at a recent promotional event for the film in Pune had his fans grooving.
“Here’s a glimpse of everything that went down at #Pune with the baap of all hearts - it was a house full of energy, echoing chants and dance moves,” wrote Dharma Productions alongside the video that captures Vicky’s grand entry and the enthusiasm of fans cheering for him.
The lyrics of Tauba Tauba have been penned by Karan, who also serves as the composer. Bosco Martis and Caesar Gonsalves have choreographed the song.
Dropped by the makers on June 28, the trailer of Bad Newz revealed that the storyline revolves around Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk competing to prove who is the better father after Triptii Dimri gets diagnosed with heteropaternal superfecundation, a situation where two ovaries are fertilised during the same menstrual cycle by different partners.
Backed by the makers of Raj Mehta’s Good Newwz (2019), Bad Newz is directed by Anand Tiwari. Touted as “a comedy based on true events,” the film is produced by Amazon Prime in association with Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective.
Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari serve as the producers, while the screenplay is developed by Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja.
Bad Newz wrapped up shooting last year and was originally titled Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam. The film is slated to hit the screens on July 19.
Vicky is also set to play Chhatrapati Sambhaji in Laxman Utekar’s upcoming historical biopic Chhaava.
Triptii also has other projects in the pipeline, including Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Shazia Iqbal’s Dhadak 2.
