Audiences who watched Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2 on the big screen on Independence Day were in for a surprise. Just before the horror-comedy begins playing on the screen, viewers are treated to a teaser of Vicky Kaushal-starrer historical drama Chhaava, set to release in theatres in December.

Vicky, who plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in this upcoming period drama, is seen in a fierce, battle-hardened avatar, commanding the battlefield with a larger-than-life presence. His portrayal shows a side of him that fans have never seen before, complete with a muscular physique, long hair and a rugged beard.

Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, is a historical drama produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, the same production house behind Stree 2. Alongside Vicky Kaushal, the film features a star-studded cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Suniel Shetty. The film’s music is composed by Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman.

Chhaava is slated for a theatrical release on December 6. It will clash at the box office with Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.
