On November 17, The Bhawanipur Education Society College beamed with excitement and thrill as the students welcomed Bollywood heartthrob Vicky Kaushal! It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the handsome actor right in front of our eyes, so the students didn’t miss their chance and registered themselves to be a part of the crowd. As the moment of the star’s arrival approached, the college premises filled with students waiting eagerly. Each floor of the building was buzzing, with student volunteers and bodyguards spread out all over the campus. More than 3,000 students waited for their favourite hero to make an appearance.

Bhawanipur College has seen many a Bollywood star drop by on their Calcutta trip, and the latest to join the gang was Vicky Kaushal. The versatile actor, who has stolen everyone’s hearts with his exceptional acting in movies like Uri, Raazi, Bhoot, Masaan, Govinda Naam Mera, Sardar Udham and so on was in the City of Joy to promote his upcoming release, Sam Bahadur (that will release tomorrow). This biographical war drama based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by RSVP movies.

Vicky created a stir from the very second he stepped foot on the campus. The interaction started off with him learning Bengali hook lines and making his fans blush with his sweetest Bengali accent. Everyone went insane when he asked, “Kemon achho Kolkata?”

The members of The Bhawanipur Education Society College’s theatre collective, Enact (Arohan), put up a wonderful performance before his arrival. They enacted a scene from the life of the protagonist of his upcoming movie, Sam Manekshaw. The crowd also grooved to Vicky’s songs, but the best moment of the day was when he walked in shaking hands and taking selfies with his fans. Everyone wanted to be the lucky ones locking eyes with him.

One of the key highlights of Vicky’s visit was that he met the NCC unit of the college and shared his journey with them. Flames, the dance collective of the college, put up a performance and stole Vicky’s heart. He praised them and motivated them to never stop the hustle. He exited the venue leaving behind memories that everyone will hold close to their hearts.
