Vicky Kaushal on sharing stage with Shah Rukh Khan at IIFA 2024: ‘I lived many dreams’

The Bollywood stars grooved to hit tracks Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, Jhoome Jo Pathaan and Tauba Tauba at the awards ceremony on Sunday night

Actor Vicky Kaushal has shared his feelings of elation after his dream of performing with Shah Rukh Khan on the same stage came true at the IIFA Awards 2024 on Sunday night.

“From growing up watching him create magic with his hosting and performances on stage…to last night, sharing the stage and being part of the same magic…I lived many dreams,” wrote Vicky on Instagram, dropping pictures with Shah Rukh from the awards ceremony held in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

The pictures show the two actors performing together on stage and presenting an award. “Thank you @iamsrk Sir. There’s no one like you, there never will be,” the star-struck actor concluded his note.

Vicky also shared a video, which shows the actors performing the hook step of Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam song from Vicky’s latest romcom Bad Newz.

Another video shared by the official Instagram page of IIFA 2024 shows Vicky and Shah Rukh recreating the iconic hook step from the title track of Shah Rukh’s 2023 blockbuster Pathaan.

Vicky and Shah Rukh also grooved to Oo Antava track from Pushpa: The Rise (2021), with Shah Rukh taking on Samantha Ruth Prabhu's role and Vicky playing Allu Arjun.

IIFA 2024 also shared videos of Shah Rukh and Vicky dancing to the hit song Tauba and Tauba.

Other celebrities who performed at the event included Rekha, Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Janhvi Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and Ananya Panday. At the end of the night, Shah Rukh took home the Best Actor trophy for Jawan (2023). The three-day awards gala was held from September 27 to 29.

On the work front, Shah Rukh and Vicky shared screen space in Rajkumar Hirani’s 2023 comedy drama Dunki. Shah Rukh’s upcoming movie King is expected to feature him alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. The actioner, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will reportedly also feature Abhishek Bachchan.

Vicky, on the other hand, is set to headline Laxman Utekar’s upcoming historical biopic Chhaava.
